Trail Rides

Ready  to get back on a horse, or riding for the first time? Fairwinds Farm trail rides on quiet, dependable horses are especially designed for you!  


We give comforting, specific instruction and a confidence-building introductory ride in our ring for 15 minutes before going on the 45 minute trail ride through woods and fields. Our experienced guides will answer all questions and help you overcome any anxiety you may have!


CHILDREN MUST BE AT LEAST 8  YEARS OF AGE to go on the trail, but we offer pony rides for our younger riders.

Hours & Rates

We do NOT ACCEPT CREDIT CARDS for trail rides. 

Price includes tax. Cash or check only.

Weekdays: flexible hours 
Weekends: 11AM - 3:30PM

 

Group ride: $40/person

There will be a $10 charge for any horse that is reserved and not used. 

 

Please call or text 302-540-1852 if changes are made in your reservation. We will text you to confirm on the day of your ride. 

 

What to Wear

Wear long pants that are flexible and comfortable. 
 

Solid shoes or boots with a slight heel are preferred.

Running shoes with ridges and a defined heel are acceptable, but sneakers with a flat sole (like Converses, Toms, and minimalist shoes) are NOT ALLOWED.

No sandals, flip-flops, flat soles or crocs allowed.


Everyone must wear an approved equestrian helmet, provided by Fairwinds  (unless you have your own.) 

 

Need to know

When reserving by phone or email, please give us first name and weight of each rider, and a cell phone number. Please complete waivers in  advance if possible, and bring with you to the ride. 

Adult waiver, 18+ 
Minors waiver, 17-

No cellphone use while riding. We will take photos after the ride

 

For our horses safety, we have a strict 260 lb weight limit. Anyone over 200 pounds may be asked to step on a scale upon arrival.

For your safety, if you can not mount the horse without assistance, you can not ride.
