Trail Rides
Fairwinds Farm trail rides on quiet, dependable horses are especially designed for you! We give comforting, specific instruction and a confidence-building introductory ride in our ring for 15 minutes before going on the 45 minute trail ride through woods and fields. Our experienced guides will answer all questions and help you overcome any anxiety you may have!

CHILDREN MUST BE AT LEAST 8 YEARS OF AGE to go on the trail, but we offer pony rides for our younger riders.

RESERVATIONS ARE REQUIRED. Please submit the form below (scroll to bottom) to request your trail ride. (preferred). You can also email jdawson@fairwindsstables.com or call 410-658-8187. For same day reservations, or if you do not receive an email reply, it is best to call.
Important Safety Information

Safety is our first priority, and we reserve the right to refuse a ride to anyone whose safety may be compromised, or who compromises the safety of our horses.

You MUST inform us when scheduling of any rider's physical or mental disabilities. We are not a licensed therapeutic riding facility.

We have a strict 260 lb weight limit. Anyone over 200 pounds may be asked to step on a scale.

If you can not mount the horse (from a mounting block) without assistance, you can not ride.

No cellphone use while riding. We will take photos for you after the ride.
What to Wear
Solid shoes or boots with a slight heel OR running shoes with ridges and a defined heel are required.
Sneakers with a flat sole, (like Converses, Toms, and minimalist shoes) sandals, flip-flops, flat soles and crocs are NOT ALLOWED.
Wear long pants that are flexible and comfortable.
Everyone must wear an approved equestrian helmet, provided by Fairwinds (unless you have your own.)
Hours & Rates
We do NOT ACCEPT CREDIT CARDS for trail rides. Price includes tax. Cash or check only.
Weekdays: flexible hours
Weekends: 11AM, 12:30PM, 2PM and 3:30PM
Group ride (2 - 8 people) $45/person
There will be a $10 charge for any horse that is reserved and not used (including for inappropriate clothing)
Need to Know
To reserve, provide first name and weight of each rider, and a cell phone number.
Complete waivers in advance if possible, and bring with you to the ride.
Adult waiver, 18+
Minors waiver, 17-
Please arrive 15 minutes early for your ride.
To change or cancel your reservation, you must call or text 302-540-1852 within 24 hours of your ride.

Where do I go?
Drive to the end of the driveway, (past the two houses on your left) until you see our cinder block barn. Follow the parking sign and meet us in the front of the barn!
